The department has educational and scientific laboratory apartments with the general area about 1000 м2, modern laboratory and scientific equipment: ionomers, spectrophotometers, gas chromatographs and liquid chromatographs, catalytic reactors controllable by PC, electronic microscopes, apparatus for the roentgen fluorescent analysis, derivatografs (differential thermal analysis), infrared and ultraviolet spectrometers, stand technological sets, the modern personal computer class with the output into the Internet.

On the department  significant volume of scientific - methodical work is constantly carried out, and as a result, the students of the speciality are completely provided with methodical papers, manuals, instructions, distributing (to lectures) materials for all courses of lectures.

Students learning on the department obtain fundamental university knowledge in the field of theory of chemical interactions of inorganic compounds using the computer engineering in chemistry and deep world-level standard engineering education in the branches:

*      methods of the creation non-waste  ecologically clean chemical technologies of inorganic substances; chemistry and technology of conditioning of technical and drinking water; clearing of waste water and gas blow-out; the protection by biological, chemical and other methods of an environment against the chemical pollution;

*      fixings of nitrogen in primary products (ammonia, oxides and etc.);

*      technologies of nitric acid, sulphuric acid, phosphoric acid, hydrochloric acid, carbamide, large-capacity mineral fertilizers, mineral salts, soda ash and caustic soda, alkalis, alumina, microfertilizers, titanium dioxide, coagulants, rare gases, methanol, synthetic alcohols;

*      kinetics and mechanisms of catalytic processes, technology of heterogeneous catalysts, sorbents, synthetic zeolites;

*      variant designing of productions of inorganic substances with the use of systems of the automated designing on PC;

*      algorithmization and programming of calculations, and processing of scientific research results in the region of inorganic chemistry and technology using the PC.

From 3-4 courses students are involved to research works (RW) at equipped with up-to-date devices  scientific laboratories of the department and institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine: the Institute of colloid chemistry and chemistry of water, the Institute of physical chemistry, the Institute of sorption and endoecology problems, the Institute of the surface chemistry, the Institute of the bioorganic chemistry and petrochemistry etc. Study at the department needs hard work, and the graduate gets the brandname certificate of specialist, which is valued highly in Ukraine and abroad.
